Our 5th graders are studying the anatomy of a flow

Our 5th graders are studying the anatomy of a flower!They dissected a flower and decided to look at the “eggs” of a plant under the microscope. Where there is enthusiasm, there is a way… the best part of hands-on-learning! They also completed the celery absorbing the food coloring lab to show how water moves up the stem. They learned that the xylem and phloem is responsible for transport and was able to see the structures under the microscope! 🔬 🌸 🔬

Our students are obsessed and huge thanks to those of you who supported this project by purchasing wish list items! The happy chirps (from kids and chicks!) coming from the library are divine!!!

Absolutely incredible! Our 6th and 7th graders got to meet with Congresswoman Jenn Kiggans on Capitol Hill! We can’t thank her enough for taking time out of her extremely busy day to make an impact on our students and their trip. What an honor!

💫 Also, we had a special meet and greet and tour with a Friends School alum that works as a policy advisor for the Majority Whip. THANK YOU!
